Calangute: Entry to the Fort Aguada Jail Museum at Sinquerim, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the state’s Liberation Day last year, is free for all.
The former central jail premises have been redeveloped and it was to have a museum dedicated to the freedom struggle along with galleries, a sound-and-light show and other facilities including a cafe.
Officials of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), who are present at the spot, said there is no museum. “The fort jail complex is itself the museum,” they said.
